What is the Solar Investment Tax Credit?
The Solar Investment Tax Credit (ITC) allows a homeowner to deduct 26 percent of the cost of installing a solar energy system from your federal taxes and there is no cap on its value. Energy storage systems are also eligible for the full ITC when they are charged 100% of the time from solar.
How does solar affect my property value?
A recent study by the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory concluded that solar panels increase home values by $14,329 on average. Homes equipped with solar systems sell for 3.74% more than comparable non-solar properties.
How soon will I start saving money on my energy bill?
Immediately! Your savings begin as soon as the system is energized. Our team oversees the entire process, so you don’t have to.
Will I still have an electric bill with solar?
With a solar energy system that matches your energy use, you can reduce your bill to $0/month. As long as you are connected to the grid your will receive a monthly statement, however, a home battery can take you fully off-grid.
Do solar panels work in a power outage?
If your solar panel system is connected to the grid, it will shut off in an outage event. This is to prevent harm to first responders and utility workers repairing the grid. However, pairing a home battery with solar can provide backup power in the event of an outage. Our expert team can easily integrate home batteries with solar for our clients.
Will my solar panels withstand hail?
The answer is yes, but it depends on what panels you install. At ATMA Energy, we use top-tier LG, Mission and Q-Cell panels which can withstand 1/2″ hail falling at 50 mph.
How long will my solar energy system last?
To put it simply, we build your Solar Energy System to last. Our solar installations, products, and components are warrantied for 25 years. Your solar energy system and panels are very durable and although warrantied for 25 years, will continue producing high amounts of energy well in the 30-35 year mark.
How do I decide how big my system should be?
Many factors go into your system sizing, like available roof space and direction, but the most important is your energy needs.

How long does solar take to install?
Installing the panels is the fastest part, taking no more than 2-3 days on average. The permitting, material orders and filing the paperwork for applicable rebates takes a few weeks. All in all, we’ve streamlined the process to take, on average, just 4 – 6 weeks from contract signing.
Will my home owner's association be okay with my solar?
Most HOA’s are supportive of solar. There may be specific forms for your HOA, but our team handles getting those filled out and submitted. The best thing to know is that Texas passed a law forbidding HOA’s from blocking your solar panel installation.
Can I monitor my solar energy system?
